I wonder why the quick switch from Einstein to Blake?

I don’t think he was ever going to Einstein. I think they just made a mistake and no one caught it until the email went out.

Oh he was definitely going to Einstein. Let's just say there was a conflict of interest with the Einstein assignment that someone overlooked and only caught after the community letter was released. Typical MCPS not doing its due diligence.

Could the following link provide explanation as to why he was sent to Blake instead of Einstein? If website is updated
https://www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/departments/clusteradmin/area1/ it shows former BCC Principal Dr Jones (immediately before Mooney was Principal) as Director for Area 1 which includes Blake and NEC, and Einstein falls under another area led by Dr Moran. Did they find it better to separate Mooney and Moran? A thread a few months ago mentioned a safety meeting held at BCC this past Spring and in that thread, posters said Mooney and teachers were allegedly told not to attend the safety meeting, but later people said Mooney was actually unavailable evening of meeting (he may not have wanted to deal with the community again, not the first community meeting with 100+ people in attendance under Mooney).

That link is very old, not at all up to date. Moran is now the chief of schools. He is in charge of all three of the associate superintendents, who oversee the directors, who oversee the principals.

Jones will oversee Blake/Mooney it seems if Jones is still Director of the area with Blake.

Jones will oversee Blake/Mooney it seems if Jones is still Director of the area with Blake.

Blake's current director is Robby Dodd. Jones is the associate super above him. This could all change for 25-26 though.

Doesn't Mooney have experience in SpecEd? Does Blake have a higher Spec Ed student population compared to other HS around that area? Is it a smaller high school? Silver Creek Middle went/goes to BCC and Silver Creek had/has an autism program.

Mr. Mooney was in charge of BCC a high school that is arguably one of the worst for special ed in MCPS. As a mom with a special ed kid and a kid with stellar academic performance, there is so little support for anyone who is not on the AP/Honors track. The only kids benefiting from accommodations are those that get time and a half on exams for all of their "documented" learning disabilities that their parents requested. It is a joke to say that Mr. Mooney is in the know with respect to "special ed."

Because they think kid can move to Honors or On level class instead of doing poorly in an AP class.

We are at SCMS and are unaware of an autism program.
