How about Cheri? |
Tell her that nicknames have to be bestowed by others and EARNED, they CANNOT be made up by the person themselves. People make fun of people who do that. |
Well, I'm not a boomer and that's what I thought of what are the other "connotations" ppl are thinking of with this name? I'm suggesting mom them to her Her peers may not think of it, but older, creepy men might, and she should know that. |
Every Sharon I’ve known has been a Sharon… if you know, you know.

I did something similar as a teen (and also had a name that was really unusual for my generation.) I really appreciated that my parents didn’t bat an eye. I kept it up from about a month and then dropped it.
Interestingly, when I was around 30 the name really took off in popularity and I know many kids with my once “weird old lady name.” (Think a ruby/Josie/stella type name.) Let her be Cherry if she wants! (But also I think we should all be prepared for our current teens to name their babies Barbara/nancy/sharon/linda.) |
Cherry? Why doesn't she just call herself Hymen? |
This is what happens when parents try to be too clever with names. Just pick a top 100 name that’s not in the top 10 or so. It’s not that hard. |
It’s me, ice cream auto pen. |
I have a (graduate) student named Cherry, and I think it's an adorable name. Love it. |
Call her Cherry Bomb like The Runaways. |
You sound like such a 2012 Tumblr teen lm freaking aooooooo |
When I was her age I tried to make people call me Spicy. I guess I thought it sounded cool It never took!
She'll grow out of it, OP. Don't fret. |
Cherry? Any relation to Blueberry (iykyk)? |
Spicy? Really? |
She might as well demand people call her Watermelon or Banana |
