Since you're wanting to "globalize the intifada," and more and more Arabic cultural concepts are in the mainstream since Palestine is the cause de jour, you'll eventually see it my way.

Absolutely no one walked into the Capitol building on January 6th unaware of what they were doing. No one.

Watch the tapes and draw your own conclusions. I saw video of the Capitol Police waving their arms in a welcoming gesture. Which is what police training at the time would have favored-- deescalation tactics. Remember that these police spent the summer before guarding the Capitol during the BLM riots and were instructed to deescalate. That's what they did on J6 and it was good police work. But to the protesters, being waved in and given a tour could absolutely be mistaken for being welcome. In any case-- even if I were wrong on this point, which I'm not, there's a huge difference between trespassing and assaulting LEOs. People who assault LEOs should have enhanced prison sentences.

All of the people who assaulted LEOs on January 6 got pardoned. And no one was imprisoned for years for trespassing only.

None of the 1700+ people convicted in the 2020 riots got pardons.
