What *should* Democrats be doing?

Who cares about Biden anymore? People have real problems. Talk about those kitchen table issues.

It’s not about Biden it’s about blatantly covering for him. We were told not to believe our lying eyes for over a year. I have lost respect for our leadership. The fish rots from the head.

Yeah well now the same people who you were mad at supposedly covering for him now claim he was so bad off they were supposedly considering a wheelchair for him which is wildly insane to me because we saw him riding bikes and waving to people with our own two eyes. Nobody's going to gaslight me into disbelieving what I saw with my own eyes. Riding a bike and waving is NOT "wheelchair" material and it makes the commentary about how bad off Biden was seem pretty hyperbolic and over the top. Sure, Biden had some bad days but I don't actually think he was anywhere near as bad as they want to claim and the accusations of a "cover up" are also over the top.

Listen to the Hur audio. I don’t care if Biden could walk a tightrope, his mind had failed.

Biden's gone. I am a lot more concerned about the incoherent word salad routinely coming out of Trump's mouth, and the deranged, demented tweets he posts on the regular, and how he's been wrecking the economy and destroying all norms and decency.

The leadership that lied to us is still in place. Again, it’s not about Biden. Will the millions of people like me that are fed up with the gaslighting from our own party vote Republican? Of course not. Will we stay home? That is a distinct possibility. I will seriously consider any Independent candidate as an alternative as well.

You understand that it’s completely insane to not vote for the party with the best chance of beating the fascists, right? Oh no, they lied (assuming it’s true) about Biden, so I choose vote for evil by default?

I don’t think that you are real. I think that you must be very much a member of the same group or groups that pushed people to stay home in the last election because of the Palestinians.

The truth is, Biden is still more capable than Don is now and this entire manufactured outrage is designed to poison the opposition party of real Americans, the Deomoxrats.

Who is this Dem leadership still in place? Biden is dead to the party and there is absolutely zero leadership otherwise. Anyone who you think was in a leadership during the Biden term and lied to you either is no longer viable or won't be viable during the next election cycle.

Grow up! The Dems made a huge mistake nominating Biden in 2020. We paid the price with a second Trump term . Guess what? At leat we aren't the party who nominated Trump three consecutive times! It's time we put the Biden debacle behind us to allow another Obama or Clinton to emerge in an organic manner.

np: Trump is evil and destructive and is ruining this country trying to feed his insatiable ego. I will vote for anyone that is best positioned to beat him.

BUT I wholeheartedly agree with disgust with the Democratic Party leadership. Like Trump, they put their career interests above what's good for the country.

It's been going on for a long time -- certainly since the smugness and entitlement of those around the Clintons -- and it's built into the way the DNC elects members and is governed.

The Republicans of today are shameless, greedy, hypocrites.

The Democrats have principals but the leadership gets deluded by thinking they are so special and so needed. They are far better for the country than the Republicans, but not as good as they need to be.

There is no Dem leadership currently so there is no one thinking they are special and needed.

The Clintons were both elite politicians and Bill was a worthy two-term POTUS whose nominations were justifiable. Biden was always a complete joke of a politician outside of Delaware and he never should have been considered for the nomination; especially at 77 years old. The Dem Party was functioning adequately when Clinton and Obama served 16 out of 24 years from 1993 through 2017. Don't let the one Biden mistake taint your view of what has been and can again be a high functioning Dem Party.

Cut spending. Buy only what you need. Don’t go to Wal-Mart. That’s all we can do. Force the millionaire/billionaires to postpone their next big investments or yacht purchases.

Democrats need to rebuild the party in all the Republican states they’ve ignored for years.

Trump’s tariffs and the republican bill are a gut punch to rural America.

Ah but you are wrong. There may not be a leading national candidate, but there is party leadership. There is leadership in the Senate and the House and a network of fundraisers and consultants and aides. Do you know how Democratic Convention delegates get elected? It's not very democratic, and is less democratic than the selection of delegates to the Republican Convention.

Are we sure about this? Or might Biden have been pretending anytime he got a question he wanted to avoid? Like Mueller testifying before Congress.

Fundraisers, aids, anyone working towards Biden's re-election absolutely didn't know exactly where Biden stood from a mental fitness standpoint. The last thing Biden's inner circle would do is to let the donors and fundraisers know how unfit the person they are investing in is. You don't tell the dealership about weird noises your car is making at 70mph when seeking top dollar for your trade in.

The bottom line is- no one who had anything to do with any cover up of Biden's failing mental health will be anywhere close to ballots in 2026 and 2028.

it's not simply about Biden's mental health, though that is a striking example.

And yet there are plenty of other examples of the party elite feeling entitled to push one of their friends over someone the electorate prefers. Same with party platform, etc etc

np: Trump is evil and destructive and is ruining this country trying to feed his insatiable ego.

We all saw Trump's mental decline from 2016-2020 and nobody cared. And now he's back in 2024 even more ranty and rambly and delusional and incoherent than before. And nobody cared. But Biden this and Biden that. If nobody gives a shit about Trump's mental dishevelment then how and why are we supposed to give a shit about Biden?
