Hire many times do I need to be told about emergency meals?

We’re one of those families. We read our emails and texts. no need to send over and over.

That's great that you are on multiple communication channels. Not all familes are. Just ignore the ones after the first one.

Everyone at our school is. You are automatically signed up for district wide notifications and the school sends messages out on three different systems. Multiply that by the number of kids you have at different schools. PTA emails are opt in. The rest are not.

Really? You know all the people at your school who are food insecure? That is an unusual situation, or a school where few families are insecure.

We are at a school with a lot of food insecurity, and reaching families is a huge problem. They use multiple platform and still sometimes families don't get announcements. They also use backpack mail to print everything out and send it home in multiple languages when it's important -- but obviously they can't do that here.

All families are automatically signed up when they register.

Yeah, seriously OP, what’s wrong with you? Did you make a thread too to complain about the multiple notifications about the school closure?

It's great they do this, but I don't see how it's a function of public education. By lumping every possible unrelated service into public education they aren't focused on their primary mission and is likely why they're failing.

What's the difference? It's still county government

How would it be better to have an external County Foodservice agency, with 99% of their work being serving food in school?

Can they offer 'free for all' again?

Is this for kids who forgot to bring their lunch?

Honestly, I'll call myself out as an example of why it needs to be sent multiple times. I have no idea what ya'll are talking about. I mean, I can guess from context. But I haven't received word of any program like what you guys are describing. I do get a lot of mcps email, Remind posts, etc. but I almost never open unless it's from my own school.

I do remember a million messages reminding us of the start of school and thought it was overkill. But also figured that there must have been problems in the past of people missing the first few days, or they wouldn't have done it.

Read the date. This thread was likely created during one of the snow days during winter 2024-2025. A more recent post asked can mcps provide "free" lunch to all again. Lock up the thread if people are confused.

Who are you talking to? If you want a thread locked you need to report it or link it to a new thread started by you, in "website feedback"

"Privileged?" No, I don't think so. Lot's of people were able to think about whether or not they will be financially able to feed their children before having them. That's not "privilege" that's common sense.

I left my abusive first husband when I was in my last trimester. It was common sense to leave before he killed me.

This was one of Potomac’s native sons. No warning sign that I shouldn’t have married him or gotten pregnant.

He was court ordered to pay CS, but seldom did and eventually he impoverished himself on paper by working under the table.

I worked 2-3 jobs at a time for years, but childcare is expensive. I qualified for WIC but not FARMs. I was grateful when we got food bank boxes.

FArMs is automatic for anyone eligible for SNAP, so you are out of date.

Imagine the overworked single mom who is getting a dozen texts and hour who misses this information.

Perhaps they are aimed at her, rather than you.

You are a revolting human being.

But speaking like this to someone raising a question is not “revolting”?
