California is a major contributor to the federal budget. However, California is the second-least reliant state on federal aid as a percentage of its revenue with 14.5%. Trump is already doing away with federal support for education by eliminating the Department of Education. So this is a hollow threat. Though higher education will be much more expensive within year- like double or triple the current cost for everyone.

Yeah I was trying to figure out if these people thought that California didn't have to sell the produce to someone. This whole argument is very odd. CA would fold like a chair if federal funds were pulled. At minimum they wouldn't actively impede federal law enforcement.

You have it wrong. California is the 5th largest economy in the world. If the feds withhold funds, then CA withholds funds and guess who loses? The "taker" red states that depend on CA paying more into the system.
