It certainly opens up the possibility of a pardon from an outgoing lame duck President.

I want Andy Beshear for president.

Cannot wait for the tell-all book.

You can't give up the power of the incumbency and be a lame duck for 18 months.

That said:

Joe should be praised for what he did for this country in 2020 and Kamala should carry the mantle of the Biden Coalition and bring centrists to the table to defeat MAGA and Trump once and for all.

His presidency has been a disaster and Kamala would be worse.

Were shelves empty of toilet paper under Biden?
Did the UN Assembly laugh at Biden?
No?

Not a disaster.

Thank you President Biden. It’s not fair, and I’m sad this happened. I wish you had been one of the lucky ones to escape the worst ravages of aging.

You did what was best for the country because you are fundamentally a patriot.

Cincinnatus is going to the farm.

GOP is bummed

The GOP may be bummed, but as a republican I happy. I don't want to vote for Trump, but sure as hell was not voting for a corpse.

Are you kidding? He specifically said in 2020 that he would *only* run as a one-term president. Then his ego got the better of him and he reneged on that. He might have had something of a “legacy” had he kept his word and allowed someone else to run in 2024. Instead, his legacy will be as a stubborn, diminished old man who had to be pushed out of the race.

I want any Democrat or even a moderate Republican (if they exist anymore) - really anyone besides Trump would be a relief. It's as simple as that.

Jimmy Carter II.

Hardly.

Strong economy by every metric after inheriting a dumpster fire.
Standing up to Russia as much as Reagan did.
Got a significant infrastructure bill through the Senate.
Record energy production including oil.
Significant Green Economy legislation that sets the US up for success for the next generation
Returning manufacturing jobs.
Returning decency to the White House.

There are hundreds of great things Biden and this Administration has done.

If he was so great, why did his own team kick him to the curb??

Exactly.
Trump and the maga cult are going to be bummed.

Too green, needs another term as governor and then some UN/Cabinet or other seasoning type experience.

And yet he shows himself capable of doing the right thing for the good of the country.

Unlike Trump.

Don’t kid yourself. He was run out of office by his own party.

Exactly. This was not a “selfless act.” Please.

She's also the only one who can keep the current campaign infrastructure. Anyone else will have to build a campaign infrastructure from scratch.
