She’s definitely my current favorite spinner. |
Ah yes, selling your soul to project yourself as a $2 whore for Godless executives is so, so empowering. lol |
Nobody is going to buy it except the horny boys. |
I’m failing to see how the 2 artists compare. |
you have no idea how the industry works gran |
+1 |
There is no rivalry between Taylor and Sabrina, OP. Taylor is one of her mentors. They have completely different styles. |
Check out the comments on reddit, mom. |
Sabrina is far more popular than Taylor right now. Taylor hasn’t had an organic hit pop song in like over a decade. Taylor is for middle aged millennials. |
That's what everyone said about Madonna, too. |
A decade? Anti-Hero hit #1 in 2022 (53 weeks on charts) Cruel Summer #1 in 2024 (54 weeks on charts) I Can Do It With A Broken Heart #3 in 2024 (31 weeks on charts) Karma #2 in 2023 (30 weeks on charts) Lavender Haze #2 in 2022 (29 weeks on charts) Is It Over Now hit #1in 2023 (22 weeks on charts) Fortnight hit #1 in 2022 (21 weeks on charts) You Need To Calm Down hit #2 in 2019 (21 weeks on charts) And there’s more…. |
Middle aged Swifties obsessively playing her songs so they become #1 isn’t a bonafide pop #1. Carpenter has bonafide #1 pop bangers. Swift is too old to be a relevant pop star. Pop stars are teens to around 27. Swift is like a Vegas act with a deep catalog of old songs everyone knows the words to. |
The closest parallel to SC is Madonna. Popular with young girls and horny boys, songs about sucking D, but that’s very short lived. And when Madonna still tries to act like she did at 25, it’s gross. Remember when she kissed Drake at 55 and he practically barfed? Plus she’s gone way overboard on the cosmetic work. Unfortunately that’ll be SC in 20 years because she has nothing to fall back on other than being a sex symbol.
TC is more like Dolly Parton. More about being and feeling cute than trying to seduce men. Dolly is still at heart a girl’s girl, she’s not going to try to steal your man that way SC would. When Dolly shows some skin, even now it’s adorable. Dolly also never had children. TC will be able to grow her brand beyond music much like Dolly has. |
The biggest issue with Sabrina is she looks and acts like the kind of woman who will hook up with your man knowing he’s your man.
That’s fine when you’re young and your fan base is young, but as they age into their 30s and start having families (and many dealing with infidelity), that persona will age very poorly. In ten years, will people with young kids wants to watch concerts where she’s fellating a microphone? No. Taylor’s music is timeless because it’s about heartbreak, young love, confidence as a woman, things we can relate to at any age. |
I don’t see either Sabrina or Taylor as confident women. They both define themselves through men and that isn’t owning yourself as a woman. SC is clearly using more sexuality than Taylor, but both just looked to men to write their roles. SC as a sexual object and TS as wanting to use and wield power/ move through life the same way men do. In fact, shouldn’t powerful confident women know that using power to belittle the opposite sex is wrong? |
