Small things to help us age well

There are no small things. The way to age well is a small number of big things.

Things like:

Exercise like 5 days a week, at least twice with weights…for the rest of your life.

Build and maintain loving relationships.

Eat decent food basically every day.

Pay attention to your thought habits and mood and train yourself to undo bad cognitive habits.

Stay interested and engaged with the world around you.

It’s a lot of work! It’s basically a part time job on top of whatever else you need to do.

Replace some walks with 20 minutes of low impact cardio and lift weights.

I used to work part time and had a lot of this down. Now working full time, taking care of the kids, house, meals, I find that I am not doing a lot of this. Exercise especially is out the window because yes there is "time", but it's time at 9pm when I am exhausted.
