Do you prohibit your kids from watching skibidi toilet?

Exactly proved my point, it's not like Gen Alpha was the only one when Gen Z was like this in 2013-17.

You guys have no skibidi rizz. You need a sigma grindset for Christmas this year. Gyat

I have resorted to putting tally marks on the board on Monday for 15 minutes of extra recess and erasing one every time skibidi toilet gets mentioned. Last week they actually kept most of their 15 minutes, which means I kept more of my sanity and instructional time. Progress!

She’s not doing whole class punishment. You misread in your rush to judge and criticize. She said she offers EXTRA recess as positive reinforcement. It’s taken away by using that phrase.

Why are you doing whole-class punishment when only a subset misbehaves? What does that teach the girls in the class about who matters and who doesn't?

I think I had an actual seizure reading this.

If my child’s not addicted to it, I wouldn’t worry too much. What makes OP ask this?

We limit screen time, especially YouTube, but I’ve accepted my kids are going to get exposed to things like this and it’s not new, just delivered in a different, more pervasive format. My youngest (2nd grade) was the first in our house to mention it and she hadn’t seen it, only heard the song.

I remember “milk, milk, lemonade”, “spell I cup” and other worse, inappropriate humor starting in early ES, a lot of which I did not understand. Thankful my parents did not make me feel like they were going to punish me for it if I mentioned it at home, rather discussed and set boundaries.

Well now I’m curious what milk, milk, lemonade and spell I cup are

Spell out "I cup."

ICUP.

I see you pee.

Height of elementary school humor.

That’s like nothing at all compared to this skibidee toilet trend. Like comparing kittens to T Rex.

Isn’t it just some turd-looking head that pops out of the toilet and sings stupid song? It’s dumb, but it’s benign. It’s not like it is porn

Right? I don’t understand these over the top reactions. Wait til their kids discover 80085 on the calculator…

I remember watching Ren and Stimpy on Nickelodeon back in the day. It had some stupid gross humor. There’s always going to be some version of this.

And Beavis and Butthead

Those are perfect examples actually. The art and subject matter of both of those scared and disturbed me a lot as a little kid. I should never have been exposed to them. Some kids are more sensitive to scary images and gore than others. I would never ever let my kids watch either of those.

It's because of the bad influence that kids are growing up with and getting addicted to nowadays.

Lol what? Beavis and Butthead was not scary or gory. It was two idiots sitting on a couch making fun of music videos.

Do you really think kids would watch something like that? I don't think so.

The point under contention was that the show was scary and gory. It’s not, at all. I wonder if the PP has ever even seen it.

And there are -- or were -- parents and teachers trying to tamp down on it and channel the kids in a more appropriate direction.

Every year, civilization is invaded by a brand new horde of barbarians, who must be defeated, and then trained to take their own turn upon the ramparts.
