When did you accept you were old? And act accordingly?

I began to feel old when it was, likely, the last time I'd do something. Water ski, figure skate, were examples in my 40s. At 60+ anytime I can't walk with a smooth gait, I feel I look old.

When you are an older parent (as OP is, and as I am), it can be kind of embarrassing to the kids. It's not very nice, but it's true.

Putting aside botox, I think that it's very much appreciated by my DD (age 14) that I do color over my grey hair, so that I do not look "old." (So many women have let their hair go grey since COVID. Unfortunately, it ages them unnecessarily by 20 years. And yet it's easily avoidable with a bit of time and money - in terms of hair coloring every 6-8 weeks.)

Recently took our kids on a hiking type trip, I had trouble keeping up and staying up late with them. My teens are 16, 15, and 13. Both DH and I are 59. I’m glad we did the trip but this was our last one like this.

I never felt or accepted that i was old but with 60 around the corner, I now do. I’m still getting botox and fillers but i’m thinking of stopping; two of my kids told me not to stop! To keep doing it until they are done with college, how do you like that!

I am 62 and don't feel old (well some days) and I have tried botox a few times and did not think it helped much; I do get my roots colored; other wise I am looking my age I guess.

Oh, and I have a 17 year old HS Jr who sometimes literally tucks me in at night. We laugh about it. I text and ask him to tuck me in and he tucks the covers under me so I am rolled like a buritto. He asked why I was going to be so early on Sunday. It was 9:30. So I do need to go to bed earlier unless I am out at an event or with friends or a special occassion.

This makes me so sad. I just started figure skating and have no intention of stopping. I’m 49.
