Ha I was upgraded last month and happily took the comfort plus seat while DH and son were in coach.

As a South Asian myself, what they did does not surprise me at all. It’s a cultural thing. |
In our case, we’ve had flight attendants tell us, and a couple of times people have told us near baggage claim. |
Why would anyone take issue with this? The kids aren’t infants. They’re 40 feet away at most, in an enclosed space.
We have our kids fly First/Business with us when we can, but often (particularly on domestic flights) there won’t be enough seats available. Kids get demoted first. They’re small, know how to fly/behave, and again—not infants who need a parent nearby. |
This. Wouldn't want my girls sitting next to Chester the Molester who is watching p0rn on his phone. |
I would of given the seat to my older child and sat in coach with my younger child. Especially if they are well behaved. I fly business frequently so not a big deal to sit in coach. Seems as if this dad may not ride 1st class often/ or is entitled?
I mainly judge the dad because I'm wondering why he doesn't want to spend time with his kids. |
It’s awkward for the adults who have to ride next to your young children. We end up stepping in for you when all we want is a quiet ride to our destination. Of course I’m going to think of you as selfish and detached. It’s hard not to as I’m helping your child open a snack, etc. |
. It's irresponsible. |
A 13 yo? When my daughter was 13, she had a thriving babysitting business. But you wouldn't leave her alone. We're doomed. |
Smart dad. They’re not toddlers. |
If you can't afford business did the whole family you are a fraud |
Smart dad because he outsourced his kids’ needs to the people flying in economy? I don’t want to sit next to someone else’s kids. It’s going to make me feel responsible for them and I resent that. Look, this thread is about whether people would judge. Yes, I’m going to judge. |
Judge away childless Karen. The kid is 13. Not a baby. |
Yeah, I’m not childless. I have two kids around that age. I have different values, I suppose. Better ones. |
This happened in Home Alone. |
