This is not about security. It is about money. Facebook, Instagram, X, and others collect user data and do what they please. They just want to share in the profits. I bet they all invest in whatever company is up to buy it. They are also mad that it shows video from Gaza that is not IDF and US media filtered. I hope they refuse to sell if this passes and just continue to operate in the rest of the world.

Hey OP, if you’re still following, can you explain to me why you can’t just use Youtube? As I understand it, TikTok is limited to short videos while Youtube has both short videos (including videos that were also posted on TikTok) and longer videos. As far as I can tell, YouTube does everything Tiktok does, and more, without links to the Chinese government. Am I missing something?
