Really? If there is a pool with 8 lanes, I would want them hosting divisional meets.

Do tell.

????

8 lane pools are faster than 6 lane pools.

They should have no kids under the age of 12 to seed a meet - yet, somehow by magic they do.

Even accounting for large families with kids of all ages, it does not add up. Those teams should die because of their membership situation. It does with other pools, but not them.

Overlee's wait list only got so insane after they did significant capital improvements in 2011-12. Keep in mind most members do not give a rat's ass about the swim team and just want a nice pool to go to. And it's a nice pool.

And Overlee has also consistently started losing to Chesterbrook and Tuckahoe as the wait list issue has continued to get worse.

So they kind of are slowly sliding.

Overlee is #2 in Div 1.

After 2 years of being #3 and they barely squeaked past Chesterbrook last year.

Even if they are the usually furthest pool from other pools

Which division is the question.

That’s fine if the others agree. Host Divisionals, but if it’s your turn to have 3 away meets so be it.

Agree, but mostly hope the OKM families and swimmers will rub their positive sportsmanship off on the teams in D1 who are lacking. As a parent of a team that competed against OKM last year, I noticed how gracious, humble, and kind the swimmers, reps, and parents were, even with season-after-season of going undefeated. I hope they show these teams what true winners are, and it has nothing to do with the scoreboard. Maybe the D1 parents on this thread will take this to heart as well.

Huh. I am rooting for OKM so that there is new blood in D1, but we also competed against them last year and did NOT experience any sort of good sportsmanship. In fact, a few of our families commented how they would fit right in with the other D1 teams.

+1. And the borderline MAGA tshirts. It’ll be an interesting summer.

This type of thing makes zero sense. You interacted with all the swimmers, reps, and parents? You didn't.

Some people in this world are jerks. So therefore some Div 1 swimmers, parents, and reps are jerks. Just like some of the ones at my little ol' Division 8 pool are jerks. Be smart enough not to generalize so much.

I think one of the biggest mistakes the left makes is giving the right a monopoly on the American flag. We should all be patriots.

Unnecessary.

You probably have a decent pool for Divisionals. We are a middle division and there have been years we’ve had really bad pools. One had been re-done so many times it had waves and bulges that the kids were hitting their heads on when turning. It was being completely redone after Divisions but that didn’t help the kids that had a shot at All-Stars until they had to swim here.

The "????" was unnecessary in a response to the pp who asked about 6 vs 8 lanes. That's why I put them in bold.

Why doesn’t NVSL use a computer swim off like MCSL? This whole thread is full of crazy.
