If you have a handgun, why not just open carry? If someone sees a gun on your hip maybe they will NOT mess with you. |
Open carry even with a permit is unlawful in DC. It is also silly, and very poor tactics. |
I would agree. Open carry is not usually a good option. I am sure police like to see it. They then know you are armed so they don't have to worry if you are or not. You just told them you are. |
Open carry is an implied threat. Keep that nonsense away from me and my family. |
Yeah, I see them at the range next to me all the time when I go shooting. No they aren’t. They’re usually teenage sociopaths who know nothing about firearms. They just have no compunction about pulling the trigger. |
You sound very reasonable. The anti-gun nuts heads are exploding. |
OP sounds like a very reasonable person protecting themselves in what is fast becoming a lawless city. Simple fact, when seconds matter the police are only minutes away. |
If a person is conceal carrying, the chances of you know are slim to none. Hate to break it to all you pearl clutchers out there. There is a very good chance you walked by multiple people carrying heat. And, you didn't get shot. There is a reason its called "concealed". If you dont like CCW laws as you gun grabbers used to tell me when I complained about gun bans, move somewhere else. I hear Cuba has a wonderful climate and is gun free. |
As Dave Chappelle said, the Second Amendment 'Is Just in Case the First One Doesn't Work Out' |
It scares the liberals. |
But also don't defund the police, right? Very logical |
Reasons not necessarily in order of importance: 1. You make yourself a target for the criminals seeking a gun 2. You will trigger the anti-gun nuts 3. Open carry is against the law in DC |
very depressing, now in addition to worrying about the armed criminals and even more about the scores of irresponsible kids in DC who get their hands on weapons thanks to the US' irresponsible gun policies, now I have to worry also about the real estate attorney or soccer mom who go around fully loaded. |
Let’s fall for the fallacy that the responsible gun owner is the problem, when in reality they are part of the solution. If you have a significant portion of the population carrying concealed the criminal element doesn’t know who is and is not armed so are deterred. Logic the failing of the left. |
Are you really prepared to end someone's life? That's a bold move to make. |
