“Good” for them! That means Columbia will be irrelevant. |
I can see NYU closing the gap between schools like Dartmouth, Cornell. |
M7 is a pseudo-official grouping. Although it's tied to the rankings. Doesn't matter than Columbia gets ranked #8 every couple of years, it's still M7. And most salient to this conversation, it's still ranked above NYU's b-school, so no idea where you're even getting your information. |
This. |
Sounds like you're saying Cornell wouldn't be T20 if it wasn't in the ivy league. I would agree with you. |
You do realize Columbia will be ranked higher than they are this year even without directly participating in the data collection, right? It is the best school in one of the most popular destination cities. The only tier 3 it could ever drop to is an imaginary third tier of the Ivy League (which will all still be top 25 regardless on the ranker). |
They deserve to be called out for this. |
I'm getting my info from USnews lol. Columbia isn't even Top 10 anymore. https://premium.usnews.com/best-graduate-schools/top-business-schools/mba-rankings |
A legacy story like that would be pretty amazing. Stanford has family housing right on campus, and you'd have access to some of the best schools in the country in Palo Alto during that time too. |
They won't. US news is adding Columbia GS to the formula. The school with an 80% graduation rate. |
FWIW, USNWR doesn't have nearly the sway it does in undergrad rankings in MBA rankings. |
Regardless of what fancy new methodology US News trots out depending on the year, M7 will be M7. |
If that makes you feel better about Columbia's drop in prestige. |
That is only about 1/3 the size of the other portion though. |
The first stage of grief is denial. M7 is based in US news ranking just like T14 is for law schools. M7 were the same top 7 mba schools on US news for decades... Not anymore. |
