Would never vote for him. The wealth gap is too large and I would also prefer someone who did not purchase their seat a la Sucession. |
It’s the current mantra of the Democratic Party. Which is why I agree that the powers that be in the MD Dem party will never allow two old white guys to represent the state. |
Because of his history prior to starting politics. Before he got into politics, he spend beaucoup bucks lobbying to create special waivers for businesses to violate state law in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and Delaware. There are laws that govern pricing for alcohol, largely to prevent big companies from preying on poor residents. Trone spent millions of dollars trying to create special waivers so that he could do exactly that, prey on the poor residents, some of whom had alcohol problems, but he was willing to bilk them for more than they could afford. He also violated state law in Pennsylvania. Had the ATF not broken the law and had cases against him thrown out of court, he would likely have been found guilty and served prison time. Instead, the cases were thrown out and Trone's withdrew his business from Pennsylvania to avoid clashing with the law again. He's also had legal issues in Massachusetts. So, he does what is good for himself and does not stand up for the middle and lower classes. Prior to joining politics, he often hosted fund raisers and charity events for pro-business Republican candidates. These are candidates who had terrible policies towards the middle and lower classes. His business interests were more important than the interests of the poor and working classes. His candidates were often against social services, wanted to decrease social safety nets and eliminate progmams like unemployment insurance. He has only flipped to supporting liberal policies because that's what gets him elected in Montgomery County. But he doesn't have strong liberal tendancies himself. He champions causes that make him look good rather than causes he truly believes in or supports. He's a fair-weather liberal and if his political fortunes will be better supported by different policies he'll go with those. He's a DINO and we need someone who truly looks out for Marylanders rather than his own financial or political gain. |
Another “I’m voting for him”. |
Bingo Please god know of the Takoma Park mafia with no real world experience. It's a like a priest telling me how to be a better spouse..they have never been married..what do they know!? |
*none of |
Voters select the candidate. Its amazing how you think the party selects them, yeah? Huh, Barbara Lee is a black woman and has a majority of the endorsements (same with Alsobrooks) and she's running a distant third too two white candidates. Its almost as if the voters will select who they want. Must be a Bernie Bro still upset about 2016 and 2020 |

Just say you think the black lady from PG County scares you and be done with it. We know what you're really saying. |
I'm voting for Jawando |
Sounds like the next season of Succession. |
I get Logan Roy vibes from David Trone ![]() |
He got rich peddling alcohol and cigars. |
***TEAM JAWANDO*** We need change in this country and a younger, more progressive and inclusive political system will bring about that. Will is the 2nd coming of Obama, he's smart, quick witted and charismatic. Trone and Alsobrooks are centrist, corporate shills meanwhile Will has the Progressive chops to work with Van Hollen and deliver meaningful change for all Marylanders. Next year, vote smart, vote Will Jawando as your democratic nominee for US Senate. |
Funniest thing I've read on here in a while. Jawando supporters are really dumb if they think Jawando compares favorably with Obama. |
