American Select Tryouts - What to expect?

I'm curious. Were there lots of BLC girls there or are they trying out for MD?

That will be a strong team this summer, especially is they have the BLC goalie.

Will numbers that low, did they cut anyone before the scrimmages for the last hour?

My question is…what constitutes VA/DC? I get BLC and girls who live in Bethesda trying out (it’s metro DC area), or girls who play for a local VA club or attend school in the area… but I heard girls from deeper into MD attended (Annapolis, Columbia, etc). Shouldn’t they be required to tryout for MD?

They can tryout anywhere, but they can only tryout for one location. Traditionally, Montgomery county girls try out for either location

The 2 dominant clubs in the DC area.

Because they can’t make the MD team

Has anyone who participated heard anything back yet? Does everyone get results at the same time?

Three hours is long but it gives time for the girls to shed any initial nervousness as well as get over any over eager playing and settle down. This was evident.

Last year, they sent a thank you note out saying results will be out within an hour. Then, 10 minutes later acceptances starting going out.
if you don't hear anything within an hour, you aren't on the team. I believe you have 24 hours to pay and accept the spot. If not, they move to alternate list.

Once slots are declined, alternate invites will go out as needed.

The ones who want to play for Capital tend to try out in DC to get extra exposure in front of Capital coaches.

How long after the tryout were the thank you notes sent?

Definitely not the 48 hours they tell you. If I had to guess, I'd say Tuesday or Wednesday

Not sure what there is to debate unless they taped the tryouts. Nothing is going to get any clearer.
