Once they accept those Federal dollars they have to play by Federal rules. They’ve already tried something like you suggest they might by the wholesale down grading of the “personality” scores of Asia N applicants. What they have put in place is a blatant quota system with different rules for different races. The “dodges” they will attempt to use to continue it will be increasingly transparent. The Civil Rights Act of 1964 says it is illegal to discriminate on the basis of race! |
Georgetown prep is obviously #1.
Here are the recent college matriculations (note multiple grads at multiple ivy, and dozens at Georgetown, Johns Hopkins etc) 100% of Georgetown Prep students are accepted into four-year colleges or universities. The collges and universities listed below are those that admitted Prep students from the Classes of 2019–2022. Those listed in bold enrolled at least one student. An asterisk* indicates those colleges and universities that enrolled three or more Prep graduates. St. Anslem’s and The Heights have sent kids too all these top schools with a small fraction of the student body that Prep has. Prep is where you want to go if you are ultra-wealthy, and need everyone to know that you are ultra-wealthy…and aren’t that religious catholic. |
What a stupid thread. Congrats OP for contributing this utter nonsense. |
Prep booster, we get it. You have lots of rich kids. Congrats. |
lol. The college list says it all. Sorry. |
The Heights is also an Ivy feeder school. Also, it takes much more discipline to succeed at the Heights. Many cannot handle the rigor and transfer.
https://heights.edu/admissions/after-the-heights-colleges-and-universities/ "While our curriculum prepares our boys for lives of love, service, and friendship in college and beyond, our students consistently earn acceptance to top-ranking colleges and universities here in the United States and abroad." Please stop. All are really good schools. All have kids go on to great colleges. |
What matters is matriculations in the past year. If they don't share that list, there is probably nothing to brag about. This list is a compilation of multiple years...who knows how many!! And it is acceptances, which means one student could be getting accepted to multiple ivies. Very deceiving. |
+1 embarrassing thread. |
To further dispute the poster who claims Catholic schools do not feed to ivies, here is 3 years of Stone Ridge matriculations with USNWR top 20 schools bolded. Parens represent number of students if more than one. So in three years, 49 matriculated to top 20 schools. The rest of the list is not too shabby either.
I would suspect many of the other great Catholic high schools would have similar lists. Please stop spreading misinformation abut these fine schools. What matters is that students go to a good school that feeds their minds, bodies and spirits. What matters is that students learn the value of things like discipline, community and - wait for it - humility. Take that last word and hold it next to your matriculation lists and Niche ratings and tell me what you see. This thread is as silly and unseemly as the DCUM-coined “big 3.” That is, if you have any sense of the goals of Catholic education. |
Wow, why so hostile? I was just explaining how misleading some of these lists can be. Our kids went through K-12 in Catholic schools, and I agree they are all wonderful, but if you are aiming for a top 20 school, some high schools do a better job preparing the students for those schools than others. |
That is simply not true. |
Is the Heights school anti-gay? |
