How are you prepping? Serious question |
A tiny minority had a nice lifestyle. The rest were like drowned rats in the bilge. |
Vasectomy. might sound funny to start with that but when it's just the missus, me and our parents to look after in a crisis, we can plan our resources better. I have stockpile of food, water, first aid, generators, gas masks, and other resources that I've been gathering for a few years. We have our bug out bags and separate vehicle ready, in case our area becomes a national disaster site. |
There is zero evidence of significant issues due to warming temps. Zero evidence of any significant issues in the near term. Warming temps is an issue. But not right now. |
If it's just you, your spouse, and your parents, though, what's the point? You're not leaving anything to children, not a climate disaster, not anything. Might as well live it up. Since your non-existent children will be fine either way. |
+1. If I had no kids, I wouldn’t care about climate change at all. |
Of course it is!!
The climate has changed since the firming of the earth, why would it stop now? When the sun cools down and supernovas it will burn up and then get super cold. |
Human caused climate change is the problem and only changing human behavior can change us of the WORST impacts. It's always worth changing course.
I have kids, but even if I didn't I would still not want to be part of the most destructive wave of humanity to ever pass over this earth. I would want to vote for candidates who thought it was worth saving the earth. And also advocate for policies that would set us on the right path moving forward. |
After seeing how the pandemic played out I am not feeling very optimistic. Politicians are still using vaccination as a wedge issue. And a pandemic is far more tangible and short term. |
The denial of science and acting like an idiot is a one-sided political policy, however. It’s an issue being worsened by exclusively one side in this country. |
The current state of research says we are on a trend line for 2.0.-2.5 degrees C of warming. So definitely not great. But most of the terrible predictions about climate change are based on 8.5 degrees C of warming.
What we have I the 2-2.5C scenarios are not great, but still very manageable |
I think of it like living with cancer. There’s a guy, James Bond (not the character), who has lived decades with multiple myeloma. He will probably never be cured, but he keeps surviving until the next new treatment arrives. |
RCP 8.5 includes approximately 5 degrees C of warming. The "old" worst-case scenario was 3 degrees of warming - and at 2-2.5 degrees of warming, we're basically there. And we'll probably get to the "new" worst-case scenario too. |
Not happening. Corrupt. Stupid. Worthless Democommunists. |
