| I have twins in kindergarten and I am trying to brainstorm birthday ideas. We intend to invite both classes, which will put our invite list at roughly 50 kids. Their birthday is mid-spring. We live in dc proper and would prefer something not too far away, but we are open to something farther away if it is really good. They would prefer something out of the house, as that appears common for their friends at this age. |
| 50 5 year olds is my idea of hell. Don't do it, OP. |

Just rent out Jumping Joey's in Arlington. If you pay extra they will close down the please for you.
But will all those kids you will need some parents to stay. |
| Rent a pavillion at a local park. Rent a room at community center and hire a couple face painters and teenagers to entertain. Make sure parents stay to help monitor. You can also do bowling, movie theater, skyzone. Or, host 2 separate parties. |

It might be a bit far out, but the Wheaton Train has a party room and the kids all get a train ride for about $200. The party room is very large and includes two bathrooms (which are also open to the public using the park). Montgomery Parks says that the room accommodates 60 people, so it may be a little tough if you have 50 children + 50 parents, but there's a good possibility a lot of parents will just drop their children off at that age and take siblings to the neighboring playground or carousel. The party gets its own private train ride, and I have never seen my friends pay for tickets above the 20 maximum, but they could always change their policy and charge $18 per set of 10 extra tickets. If it's raining, there's no train ride, so you have to be prepared for that possibility.
You have to provide the food, paper products, special decorations, etc., but it's one of the least expensive party ideas in the region for large groups of kids, if it's not too far for you. | There are parks that have buildings to rent. |
That place cannot comfortably hold 50 kids plus parents. Do you have same sex twins? Can you just invite boys from one class and girls from the other if not? We just started K too, and so far there hasn't been a party that invited the whole class. |
| Bounce party or trampoline place. |

Don't know anything in the city unless you do that park idea. Personally I wouldn't do that because you'd have to manage the whole thing by yourself and I'd want someone else to manage a party of this size.
Since it's really young kids you could do a MyGym. There's one right across the border on River Road in Bethesda. Otherwise I think Bounce U is your best bet. We've gone to parties there for kids for Janney. |
| A big karate party |

Ugh.
A bouncy place is fun for that age group. |
| Oh my god. My only idea would be Xanax. Plenty of Xanax. |

It could go either way and lots of kids will come or parents will see how many kids are invited and not bother because you invited so many kids.
40-50 kids and then throw in parents and siblings who will tag along and isn't really a birthday party, it's more of a community event. Think about which you are really trying to host. |
| How many do you think will come, OP, from what you've seen at other parties? |
