Paul Ryan's speech

Anonymous
Way to start out the new administration on a partisan note, Ryan. So glad you view this as a government by Republicans, for Republicans. I keep giving him the benefit of the doubt, that if given the chance he really would try to work in a bipartisan fashion in a government for all Americans, but he seems hellbent on proving me wrong.

On an up-note, the Republican overreach has already started.

It's ok, Trump has other plans.

Did you notice he became a big fan of Trump overnight?

I love hearing from Republicans about how we need to come together. Did they forget their role in creating the division? Did they forget how they refused to participate in the legislative process in the two years following Obama's election? But now we should all fall in line. No thanks. I hope the democrats fight every conservative policy that Ryan and McConnell try to push through.

He was always rooting for a Trump win, he was just hedging his bets public because he didn't think it would happen. He could barely keep the smug grin off his face the entire speech.

It also would have been a classy gesture if he'd waited until after Hillary's concession speech, despite the delays in getting it set up.

You know, if Trump and the Republicans try to push through legislation that you feel is detrimental to the safety, security, and welfare of our nation, then the role of the Democratic elected officials should be to try to stop them. That is what they are elected to do - to represent the people who elected them.
That is precisely what the Republicans did, and I would expect nothing less from the Democrats.
But, I don’t think that is going to happen.
I think people will be pleasantly surprised.

Paul Ryan only cares about the political future of Paul Ryan. He needed yo get out in ftont of Trump if he has any hope of saving the Speakership and any eventual Presidential run.

No, it's not.

Trump has a good memory. Drain the swamp, starting with the speaker.

Democrats are big-time wusses. W used the 9/11 cudgel to cow them into line. They will be happy little lapdogs for Trump. The left would not be in this mess if they had taken a leaf out of McConell's playbook.

You do know this term originated with the Alt-Right and StormFront message boards, correct? And it had to do with eliminating minorities from US citizenry.

This is the dangerous speech making it's way into the main stream Republican thought.

Paul Ryan doesn't want to be president. Paul Ryan wants to run a hedge fund.

Gee, Paul, too bad. Hedge funds aren't doing so well right now.

Paul will try to keep his head above water with his corporate masters. He will satisfy himself with killing civil rights, raping America's natural resources, privatizing whatever federal social benefit programs that can't be flat out destroyed, and abolishing the federal workers union.

It will be interesting to see if Reince Priebus can protect him from Trump.

Ryan for dog catcher 2018

I give him about three to four months. You are either out in front of the mob or being taken down by it. The revolution will over come Ryan.
