Where to stay at Martha's Vineyard

Anonymous
We will be in Rhode Island in end of May and wanted to visit Martha's Vineyard. Our four and half year old will be with us. Can any one recommend any Bed and Breakfast place? We are open to hotel as well. We never stayed at Bread and Breakfast pleace that is why wanted to give it a try. We are planing on staying there for two days. Any recoomendation on what to see and really good places to eat.Thanks.

A lot of the BnB's are in Oak Bluffs, which is a lovely town but does not have an ocean beach. It does, however, have the most nifty stuff from a 4.5 year old's perspective.

Again, from a kid's perspective, I recommend the Winnetu resort on South Beach. Two heated pools, ocean beach, kids' drop-in program, bikes/bike path .... babysitting if you want to eat Grown-Up style. Tennis.

Yes, Oak Bluffs has the Flying Horses carousel which I believe is the oldest carousel in the U.S. It has the rings you can grab as you go around and if you get the gold one, you get a free ride! I would agree that Oak Bluffs is not the most picturesque, but is probably the most kid-friendly. As for a b and b, I don't have any recommendations, but personally I don't know if I would go to a b and b with a 4 year old. They are usually geared more towards adults.
