Coach for Soccer League?

| So my family just moved into a new community and we signed my 5 year old DD up for the local soccer league. The soccer team is struggling to find someone to coach the team but all the team members have already paid the registration fee. We've just been notified that class will be canceled this week because no one has volunteered to coach. My daughter missed the first practice because she was sick, the second was canceled due to weather, and now the third is canceled because of a lack of coach. Is it normal to have people sign up for a soccer team without having a coach in place? I know parents are encouraged to volunteer but this seems like a basic necessity to have a coach in place before people pay. I don't want to raise a stink to the team organizers if this is par for the course. I'm honestly asking because I am very new to this and don't what the norms are. |
