I'm considering a platform bed but wonder if it will feel claustrophobic and/or it will be tricky to sit on the edge of the bed if we get something like this?

| I don't know about claustrophobic, but agree it doesn't look comfortable to sit on. |

| Not to sound OLD but we recently replaced our platform-height bed with a standard height frame+box spring+mattress and it is SO MUCH MORE COMFORTABLE. Especially for my 10-years-older DH. |

| That kind of bed with the jutting out sides is the WORST. Spent a month in a house with one and my shins and calves were bruised to hell. Totall uncomfortable to get in and out of. |

| I prefer a traditional higher bed, but I'm interested in those online mattresses I keep hearing about on DCUM (Casper, Leesa) and they all seem to go on a platform bed (no box springs). Is there any alternative to a platform bed for these mattresses? |
