| Well, we are in Loudoun, but lunch is 30 and recess is 15. |

We're in DCPS and have the same from 1st grade on up. PK and K get more recess. |

| My daughter in 2nd today at dcps title 1 got 12 minutes of recess... They have minutes shaved off if the class doesnt get in line in an orderly fadhion, etc. we need to fight this. The healthy schools act says recess is a right that shouldnt be taken away for discipline orvto make up for academic time. Occupy the playgrounds! |

| Howard County elementary schools have a 30 minute recess followed by a 25 minute lunch. I found out the middle schools have a 30 minute break for both lunch and recess. The kids can go out when they are done eating. |
| MCPS school-- 70 minutes for lunch/recess block. Kindergarten gets 40 mins for lunch, 30 mins recess. 2nd grader gets the opposite. Kindergarten also has another 30 minute playtime/recess later in the afternoon. |
Did you talk to the principal? I just did this at my DCPS ES. It is against DCPS policy (and DC Law). |
