And what do you think that reason is? |
I still don't understand why Crossfield doesn't go to Franklin like all the other schools zoned to Oakton in that area. They really need to swap Crossfield and Oak Hill so that they go to the right middle schools! Oak Hill is much closer to Carson and Franklin Farm is much closer to Franklin.. |
In this hypothetical, Brookfield would feed entirely to Rocky Run and Cub Run to Stone so Franklin boundaries didn’t cross RT-50. |
There is development now happening in the adjacent area closer to the WFC Metro in the county. It will add kids to Haycock/Longfellow/McLean. FCC is just more nimble in approving plans so the development started there first. |
Nope, Franklin is under capacity (like 81%). There's plenty of space, especially if the Crossfield AAP kids choose to go to Navy. |
That should have read Carson not Navy! |
That would be make a LOT of sense, and both Rocky Run and Franklin are under capacity, so space is not an issue. |
I don’t think it had any instructions on how to manipulate, it told people to vote for Emerald Chase related topics. Someone did post on here how to do it and it looks like the Hunt Valley folks joined the party. Will be curious to see how tomorrow’s meeting goes, since it’s now very obviously a flawed, terrible system. I find it someone ironic since the Thru guys supposedly had experience in IT implementations as opposed to doing boundary adjustments. |
If Franklin and Rocky Run are under capacity how is Chantilly so overcapacity? |
They all transfer to Carson for AAP. |
FCPS is full of situations where MS capacities are not aligned with HS capacities. They make no effort to do so. Cooper just got renovated but it doesn’t have 50% of the capacity of Langley, as it should. |
Rocky Run is an AAP center. |
AAP centers need to end. They confuse every boundary and are unnecessary. |
RR was renovated in 2020-2021. I think its capacity is around 1300 with 900 enrolled. It’s a really nice building. Isn’t Franklin on the renovation list for soon? At least that’s what the school custodian told me when we were chatting during a Saturday of games there. Chantilly hasn’t been touched for decades. |
I'm getting lost in all these different discussions. Are there any communities who truly think their school is overcrowded and boundaries should be changed or are unhappy with a split feeder/attendance island and like the idea of realigning? Any at all? |
