Whatever else they have said and done, they are right on this and frankly brave considering how few Republicans, if any, have dared to cross Trump.

Hopefully this starts the snowball rolling. Many Republicans will vote for it when it comes up. Maybe that leads to more resistance as we barrel toward 2026.

They wouldn't risk the nuance of the deflection. In 2026, the Democrat will simply say that Candidate XYZ voted against releasing the Epstein files. The Republican candidate would have to say "well that's not true, we had a committee doing such and such..." Simple messages work, and the Democrats will hammer the Republicans with it. Also, we all know that more and more is going to come out on Trump on this so they'll be on the wrong side of history to cast a vote trying to protect him.
