I'm working on lightening up my dining area and want to get rid of the heavy-ish canvas drapes I have in there now and switch to a white cotton sheer. I found some I like and they are swiss dot-which I've always had a "thing" for. But I'm wondering if swiss dot material is more appropriate for a bedroom or if it's ok for a very informal dining area. What does DCUM think?
I have sheer cotton Swiss dot in our baby's nursery. I love it too, but it seems babyish to me. Not sure if it would work in a dining room.
I agree it doesn't really work for a kitchen, except for maybe a country cafe-theme. If you want a patterned sheer, look for stripes.
OP here. Boooooooo! But ok, thanks PPs-that's pretty much what I thought.
I say go for it.
If you like it, go for it.
It is a very European look for all rooms of the house.
Sounds cute! If not too expensive, give it a try!
I love swiss dot but also always think of young children or maybe a cottage with it.
