I was at an event last night with a mother and her 22-year old daughter. We discussing attending a professional baseball game and the mom said to the daughter "you and dada went to that Orioles game last year" and the daughter said "yes, dada and I did do that" and I was horrified.

This is different than baby talk or cutesy talk. It’s just a name. It is weird that people change their parents name when they reach a certain age. Dada is not inherently more juvenile than Dad. If they were like “ph, does baby remember the widdle Orioles game…?” I would agree with you.

Baby boys should be dressed like babies, not like tiny versions of men.

I judge people who brag that they could have gotten this fancy job or that hot spouse when they are clearly unemployed or stuck in a miserable life because of their own inaction. Everything is holding them back except themselves apparently.

Obviously these people are low IQ or low agency and will most likely never achieve much material success in life. I judge people like you for judging them in order to feel better about yourself. They are no threat and deserve only pity for their intellectual shortcomings.

I was thinking of a woman who complains about her husband’s salary but can’t seem to keep a job. They are homeowners.

I hear you OP. I think of myself as not snobby and will talk to just about anyone. I realize that many of my advantages in life are sheer good luck and look for the best in people.

However when I see intelligent women using expensive designer hand bags, I struggle to not think less of them (designer brands in general). For example, recently I saw a mature Muslim woman wearing a cute, modern (long pants and long dress shirt in bright colors with a pretty head cover) and was admiring how she adapted her culture to modern life while retaining comfort and modesty - until I saw her very expensive designer hand bag. For me it ruined the look.

Re: your example - I am fine with tattoos on younger people into middle age but am repelled by many of them on older people (and older folks who flaunt them on saggy skin). Apparently I am visually ageist even though I am rather long in the tooth myself. I am not proud of this prejudice and should be glad when older people are comfortable in their own skins .

It is a provocative question OP.

I’m not actually trying to “vanquish” my snobberies. I come from a long line of women who have very specific ideas on what’s proper and what isn’t and I wouldn’t want to disappoint them.

I agree with all of these except for the Kia part.

I don't know if it's a "snobbery," per se, but toddlers and young kids with iPads or phones.

People who speak "hillbilly chic" as a way to show. that "them elitists who think they're better than us" really aren't just because our English skills aren't perfect.
Anonymous
People who follow celebrity news/gossip desperately need to get a life of their own.

Pitbulls and their owners. Awful and trashy 99 percent of the time

People who look up other peoples houses on Zillow etc. So insecure and nosy

People with no kids or one kid doling out parenting advice to parents of multiples

Sure, I hate face tattoos but wasn't it Post Malone who said he got tattoos on his face in an effort to cover up his ugliness? Meanwhile, despite the tattoos he has a reputation of being incredibly kind and respectful towards everyone.

Parents who have more kids than they can handle and then blame the world for their shitty parenting.
