| Just saw this on the Takoma DC listserv. I'm really disappointed- my family swims there weekly, and $5 per person per day seems really steep. I can't believe there wasn't more notice of this! Anyone else upset? |
| For residents? |
| WHAT? |
| Makes sense to me. They'll probably offer monthly passes and waivers for low income folks. |
| DC residents are still free. Not sure what you're talking about. |

Still free for residents. |
Not after Labor Day. The link is here: http://dpr.dc.gov/release/dpr-announces-new-regulations-and-fees |
That is current. The new fees go into effect in September. |
|
They are welcome to charge but I doubt our family of four will go nearly as often if we have to pay - one of the main reasons we used to go to the neighborhood pool as opposed to doing something else was because it was free. I wonder how much their attendance will fall off after this.
Also, don't DC residents pay taxes for these services already? And how about many DC residents who cannot afford those fees? Silly idea. |
| So basically, pools are now just for poor people. |
| Fuck DC. How can we stop this? |
|
Man this stinks. I glanced through the fees, it looks like it's separate for indoor and outdoor pools, too.
This seems very anti Michelle Obama let's move campaign. And was play DC a Grey initiative? |
| Swimming for adults $15 per hour per lane? Are you fucking kidding me? |
I don't follow. Is it free still if you are on snap or something? |
Who the hell would pay $600 for a filthy pool with bad service? I am assuming they will give a break to the poor. I guess the middle class of DC will be given the shaft again. Did the council approve this? |
