Stuck at Tentative Offer. Advice?

I accepted a tentative offer about a month ago and since submitting the requested docs the next day, figured a start date w/the manager & have heard nothing since. It is for an atty position w/pub trust. I'm starting to get nervous. Does anyone have a perspective on the hiring process or care to chime in to assuage my growing anxiety? I'm so accustomed to the private sector's rapid on-boarding process.

Why aren't you calling? Ask if they received the documents and verify the start date

I confirmed the start date with the Dept. Head. Have heard nothing on the HR front (i.e. fingerprinting, SF86, etc.)
