What was involved in going over Immune Test results with Dr. Abassi

Anonymous
My results are in but I can't get an appointment until Next Tuesday. Ugh. I'm so nervous. I wish the wait wasn't so long.

Bring a note book and be prepped to write. This is how mine went: She will give you the result out loud and then tell you the med or bit of the protocol. She will review it at the end but there is so much info it can feel overwhelming. She might put a condition or two in before you can start your cycle. She doesn't rush into anything (but also realize time matters) and is very methodical. Keep us updated! I am wishing you success!!

The front desk can photocopy the results at the end of your appointment.

HOw much did you pay out of pocket for the tests, if you don't mind me asking?

NP. ~ 400$ for homocysteine, everything else was covered by insurance.

You can look at some of the docs from the yahoo immune site and formulate some questions. I think they have some sample bloodwork there to look at. It might help you to have seen it before your appointment. Familiarize yourself with the tests and you'll have a better idea of what she's talking about if she starts discussing your Reproductive Immunophenotype and HLA results.

Are HLAs ordered only if something else comes back abnormal or they are in the first line of tests? I had 2 fresh cycles with her and she never mentioned or ordered them for me...

I am not familiar with this site and google wasn't helpful (terms too broad I guess). Do you have a link you could post?

Yes I'd love a link to the Group.

I have a sheet at home with all the prices for each test. I'll update the post. I did have insurance coverage though (Federal BCBS) so I only had the deductible (what is left for the year) and copays.

Thanks!

if you are already signed up for yahoo i think you can view the groups home page from here

https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/immunologysupport/info

Otherwise try this link

There is also a private facebook group that I'm not a part of, but you can find info for the facebook group from the yahoo page.

My HLA were ordered with my initial labs, but we ended up doing them through Quest instead of RFU. I think RFU offers this now but I'm not sure if it's part of what she will order or not.
