Not a new building, part of the existing building.

I didn't really understand how they want to do this. Do you know what they mean by a "shell" and what's needed to make it happen?

Honestly, Wheaton is already overcrowded so if this were easy or cheap they would have done it already. Gmafb. This is just a distraction from the fact they want to screw over Wheaton because us Latinos don't complain as much as the Whites.

Then start complaining! You all have THREE representatives on the BOE (Karla, Rita and Grace). What's your excuse?

I do complain! But my voice alone is not as loud. And frankly, the BOE should not simply react to the squeakiest wheels because those will always be the people with the most resources. Don't you dare blame me for that.

It's always like that. The squeakiest and the ones that have resources for lawsuits and magazine articles win.

So that's a reason not to worry too much about split articulation, especially when there are so many tradeoffs and only so many things you can really prioritize.

I hate choice options especially for middle school. I went to a choice school growing up, and my oldest went to a choice school for Hs (against my advice). It’s olay for some kids (my oldest had particular atypical things that made it work for her), but I do not think it should be the dominant paradigm. People I know in NYC absolutely hate that system and I think it’s even worse here where we don’t have strong public transit to get kids to schools outside their neighborhoods.

Can you say more about what you don't like about it? I may have an opportunity to give feedback to MCPS about this and am curious. It sounds good to me but I am just an elementary school parent and never had any options growing up myself.

So you need to organize with your fellow Latinos. What are you waiting for? CASA and other groups don't have a problem organizing and mobilizing when it comes to immigration issues.

No, that’s not true. It fits an ideologically driven Board Member’s agenda to promote greater diversity at the expense of everything else.
