Some good points. Well, there's always NextDoor. That makes any forum look good by comparison |
Or Letsrun, which is filled with 45-year old men critiquing the bodies of teenage girls. |
I prefer to date short, brown blue collar men. |
Nah, not expired, just bad for you. Since you brought it up, here’s some cakesters history for you. They were released in 2007, and discontinued in 2012. There was never an official reason given, but I think everyone kind of assumed it was poor sales. There didn’t seem to be any real problems. Then after a decade, they rereleased them. I assumed they’d revamp them like new coke, but they’re still pretty much the same bad for you goodness as always. I like to imagine some young adult binging on cakesters during college, and being so disappointed when they were discontinued, they vowed to bring them back someday. They worked their way up through Nabisco ranks until they got enough power to redeploy the cakester bakers. But probably they just found a massive warehouse and realized it was easier to relabel them with new expiration dates and sell them to me than to destroy them (they’re like twinkies, pretty sure they’ll survive anything). |
I truly have no idea bc I don't care whether someone approves. |
You're dumb. Just really, really dumb. A) We still pollute. B) We have taken our fair share of the pollution pie (e.g., industrial revolution) and now are asking them to not do the same. How do you think that would go over if the roles were reversed? We have zero moral authority on that point. |
So, basically you're just a run-of-the-mill a$$hole then. Duly noted. |
Same. Love referring to ourselves as the Larlos. And I’m always perplexed by women who are happy to have their children their husband’s last name, but are appalled at taking it for themselves. Different strokes. |
1. Go away
2. Tell this story to China and India - they are the real polluters 3. Go away now 1. Close your eyes 2. destroy the future of your children 3. hope to die before your children will realize the guilt of their partents |
They should rename that site to snakenextdoor. |
I live in Philadelphia
Baltimore be worse in the average DCUM user’s eyes, however |
DP. I also have a lot of existential anxiety over the state of our environment. And yes I have some judgment for the Kardashian loving conspicuous consumers out there and wish people would stop with all the cheap plastic goody bag favors. But I’m also realistic that we aren’t going to individually bootstrap our way out of climate change. I can recycle, take public transit, buy natural fibers, install solar panels, renovate my older home to be more energy efficient, etc. until I’m blue in the face and maybe I can pay myself on the back. But it won’t change anything. Because the biggest issues are corporate polluters, the factory farm/fishing industries, and overseas factories. Inflation is hitting families hard and so I’m not surprised they turn to cheap overseas synthetic crap and mass produced foods. Let’s be real, living a green lifestyle can be expensive. Those local farm food deliveries are not cheap and are generally available in more expensive neighborhoods. A short commute is a luxury, I am not going to blame the blue collar workers fixing my plumbing who drive 40 miles to work because that is how far away they can afford to live. This is a global problem and we need progressive leaders to solve this. I blame republican politicians and news channels that lie lie lie about global warming because they have deep pockets to protect by keeping the status quo going. Gotta think about the share holders. |
My husband and I met freshman year of college and we backpacked the world all 4 summers of college together. We did hostels, couch surfed, made tons of friends, and it became a huge part of our identity as a couple. Our honeymoon was the first "nice" vacation we took and we both hated it. Our souls are meant for adventures, connection, living like locals, finding joy in the unexpected, immersing ourselves in different cultures. We love continuing it on with our kids! |
I did an AMA in the travel forum a year or so ago if you search! |
This thread is a good indication of why we had friends move from this area to SC and they seem happy and relaxed as can be living down there and out of this crazy bubble. I'm from here and can say that ![]() |
