| We are potentially moving into this school zone -- is this school academically not preparing students or Are great schools and school digger not my best source? |

+1. Those sites are junk. |
Both. Great schools and school digger aren't reliable. And this is especially true in FCPS, where AAP Centers distort standardized test scores. If your ES is a Center (especially a larger Center) test scores will be higher for the AAP kids, which brings the school up and makes it look great. But that doesn't tell you much about the quality of k-2 or gen Ed, or how the neighborhood kids are doing. If your school is not a Center, and a bunch of kids in your ES qualify for AAP, you get a "brain drain" in 3rd when AAP kids go to Centers, so the potentially highest scoring kids are bused elsewhere. Your school looks worse of paper than it actually is. But, I live near Terraset, and would not buy into a neighborhood zoned there. It's not bottom of the barrel, but you should be able to do better school wise in that area of the county without a big bump in housing budget. |
| Do u have kids? |
| I used to teach at Terraset before I became a SAHM. The teachers there are FANTASTIC! While it is a high FARMS area, the teachers are amazing and bend over backwards to meet the needs of every student. It is relatively small school, which gives it a nice homey feel, IMO. It also just underwent renovations, which is a nice bonus. |

| Why do your kids go to an out of county school if you live in FCPS? |
Not the OP, but read the OP before responding FFS. It's only 2 lines long. |
| What? I'm replying to the post above mine. |
| Read the OP's question. Report back if you are still unclear. |

My replies are not to op, but to this poster:
