They would be calling him a pervert and trailer trash because he was sleeping with his sister in law. They probably would want the Trump sil prosecuted for illegally disposing of a gun in a grocery dumpster right by a school. They would say Trump’s connections helped Don jr illegally obtain a gun and that would need investigating. I really can’t see how they would want mercy for Don jr and complain about his prosecution.

I'm confused. Are you saying that Don Jr. should be prosecuted for having guns while coked up or not?

Either way it's an interesting circular argument that you have presented. HB should be prosecuted for the same things that Don Jr does because Don Jr would be prosecuted while HB wouldn't even though HB is and Don Jr isn't.

No, I am saying that if it were Don jr instead of Hunter in the courtroom, dems wouldn’t be defending him or saying he shouldn’t be prosecuted. Dems would want him prosecuted. It would be a vastly different thread we are commenting on.

Did you ever stop to consider that it’s because Don Jr worked for his father directly and is a visible part of the Trump machine? Hunter has no part in the US government or Biden world.

Except the double standard is the current reality of the situation: HB is being prosecuted, while DJT Jr goes to the gun range and makes videos while completely f#cked up. There is plenty of circumstantial evidence regarding DJT Jr violating the same law as HB.

Go after both, or go after none. That's the consistent standard.

Instead, you're aggrieved about a hypothetical situation that Democrats are somehow to blame (???).

Except in the real world HB is being prosecuted, whereas Don Jr isn't even being investigated for his coked-up videos while possessing firearms (which he posts evidence of possessing all the time on his social media).

I mean if Don jr wrote a book about his extensive drug use, it’s very possible he would be investigated.

Also Hunter didn’t pay his taxes and a wealthy dem donor paid the IRS for him. If that were Don jr and a wealthy republican donor paid his irs debt, I am sure people here wouldn’t be so forgiving.

In case you haven’t noticed, the irs is pretty ruthless to people who don’t pay their taxes. I am sure people would say don jr is a rich spoiled coke head who gets out of trouble because his daddy arranged it.

So Don jr doesn’t have irs problems afaik; he’s not ever been kicked out of the Navy after failing a drug test for cocaine; he hasn’t written a book about his crack addiction. You are determined to compare the two and there’s no comparison. That is why I say if this were Don jr on trial dems would be howling for a conviction.

Look how spun up you are over a hypothetical. It's insane.

Again - in the real world HB is being prosecuted for a crime that almost no one gets nailed for. Meanwhile, Junior is making videos yayo'd out of his mind and the next day later is posing with AR15s at the gun range or on hunting trips. Sure, HB has other corroborating evidence but I'm sure the DOJ would find similar if they actually investigated DJT Jr.

Hunter is being prosecuted because he himself published a book describing being an addict while buying a gun, when normally it’s very hard to prove lying on an application.

Do you think that don jr can be investigated over videos you personally think he is high in? Have you called the police in his jurisdiction and told them what you think is happening? What did they tell you?

No, I think that police have to have evidence to begin an investigation into a person for any charge, and democrats online claiming they can “tell”don jr is high doesn’t fulfill what police and detectives and prosecutors need to investigate don jr. I know, how awful.

It’s intriguing that multiple adults here think their suspicion of don jr is all the police need to investigate and prosecute him. They actually believe their expertise at watching videos and reading body language is enough to prove something in court. (And by intriguing, I mean absolutely nuts. I can’t believe adults would even say that out loud.)

You ain’t lying. Imagine what the children felt. It’s so very sad. And he got his brother’s widow hooked on crack. I mean addiction sucks but this guy has basically destroyed every relationship around him with his most important family members. I can’t imagine what his wife and kids and his brother’s kids went through. Losing your dad, and then your mom starts sleeping with your uncle and gets addicted to crack.

I’m no HB fan but his sister in law had agency in this.

Drug addiction is so, so awful. Losing a parent is so awful, losing a brother (after losing a parent) is so awful. Lots of tragedy all around.

Yeah, but she was vulnerable as a widow who lost her husband young and through a terrible disease. She was grieving and scared. Hunter could have helped her and the kids without moving into his brother’s bed. All he had to do was not sleep with her. He could have been there for her still. Addicts like to have people to do drugs with. They don’t like to use alone. Hunter not only slept with her, he provided drugs to her. He was her drug supplier. You think Hallie Biden is going to go to the places people deal drugs and buy them? Nope. The emails even show she would email him and ask him to go get her drugs.

PP. totally agree, but let’s not forget the Hunter also lost a brother. He too was grieving. People act out and all sorts of ways when they are grieving and when they are addicted.

I would’ve just liked this case to be looked at through an addiction lens, not as punishment.

The whole story is tragic and I feel for the entire Biden family that Wise and party used this tragedy to try and hurt Joe Biden.

If so, I never want to hear the left talk about “common sense gun control” ever again.

Oh yeh, like this is a fair or legitimate trial.

Prosecution: "Nobody is above the law!"
EXCEPTION: Hallie Biden went into Hunter’s truck, broke into the lockbox, stole his gun then proceeded to throw it out in a public trash can.
EXCEPTION: The gun shop BROKE THE LAW by selling gun without proper ID. The gun shop owner amended the form years after the fact.

No, she simply took it out of the console. Pretty dumb to leave a firearm in the console of your truck.

Any addict in America would like the same privilege you wish Hunter could have. Can we makes sure all addicts get the treatment you wish Hunter could receive?

+1 he thought he could admit those things without being held to the law. Ooopsie.

Please explain how the jury will be rigged?

MAGA just can’t accept reality and facts. Personally, I think Hunter will be found guilty on the possession account. But I guess if it’s not all three accounts, you’ll scream “rigged”.

Some addicts say being sentenced to prison saved their lives. Some say the support from their families enabled them and made their drug addiction worse because they never faced any consequences.
