Travis and Taylor

From someone who is probably quite a bit older and able to speak from more life experience, believe me there’s more you want in a life partner than butterflies and weak knees and writing poetry all night. Maybe she has that now.

“You already know, babe.”

I am in my 50s and happily married to a stable partner who is wonderful and no poet But then I am also not Taylor Swift, who can live out her entire life like the single best, wildest, funnest day of our youth, and I support that path if that’s what she or others choose. Why do people assume everyone wants the life most of us on this site have (moms, wives, corporate jobs)? Her reality is so different than ours. There can also be happiness and fulfillment in a life of highs and lows with little gray in it.

I assume she wants the married and babies life for a few reasons
1. She is a people pleaser and likes to adhere to cultural norms. (Marriage and children are still norms right now)

2. She defines herself (or at least her artistry) by her relationships with men and how they her. She isn’t very forward thinking in this. She brings up getting (or almost getting) wedding rings and marriage proposals often enough in her songs to make it seem like a goal. I could definitely see her not wanting this but using it as fodder so her fans can relate.

3. She never broke away from her parents: her mom is her therapist. They aided her career in huge ways and she is the family business.

Taken together, I think she is fairly conservative in her worldly outlook and believes babies and marriage would be good.

Am I certain of course not she is her own person, but that is why I see her as wanted the married woman role.

He was her transition guy… everyone needs one.

Matt Healy was no transition. She has been in love with him for years. She probably left Joe for him too. Then the fans, media, everyone dragged him through the mud and the guy couldn’t take the heat and walked out. Can’t blame him, not everyone wants that kind of scrutiny into their past (and his is wild!) and into their every move.

These are of the songs from the past decade that are likely about him, in addition to the ones on the new album:

The One, Cardigan, Question ?, Illicit Affairs, Dancing With Our Hands Tied, End Game, Glitch, Labyrinth, Maroon, Death By a Thousand Cuts, Daylight, Ready For It, Don’t Blame Me, Now That We Don’t Talk, August, This is Me Trying, Cowboy Like Me, Snow on the Beach, August, Gold Rush, Ivy, Closure, Exile, Cornelia Street, False God, So It Goes, maybe Cruel Summer…and who knows how many others.

If she’s in love with MH then poor taste in men.

Some people are like that. Some grow out of it. Some don't.

There is no need to grow out of intense love, deep connection, the chase, the longing and flirting with songs back and forth. These are the moments that make life worth living! Taylor doesn’t need a partner to help with earning and domestic chores for example, that’s been taken care of a long time ago. She wants butterflies and weak knees and messy top kisses and fireworks and pontificating and writing poetry all night. Matty can give her all that and more (my bedsheets are ablaze she wrote

These two need to get over their pride and prejudice and find their way back to each other. I am too invested now in this epic, clandestine love story and would love to see it through.

yes, and I am here for it. ...will Matty reply or stay silent?

Someone sent me this analysis of the Fortnight video and it’s the best interpretation I have seen so far:
The fans were electrocuting Taylor because she was "mad" for being in love with Matty Healy so he "pulled the plug" on their relationship to save her from all the insults and backlash because he too loved her deeply.

And in Down Bad she sings, “How dare you think it’s romantic, leaving me safe and stranded.”

If there is any truth to that, theirs is indeed an epic Romeo and Juliet love story, and I am hoping for a happy ending. Because in the Fortnight video, they find each other in the end, right?!

Anonymous wrote:Matty is a freaking drug addict. I don’t understand the appeal.

He’s chaotic and profound at the same time, funny, quick-witted, sardonic, oddly brilliant in flashes before he reverts to a weird little muppet, very likely reeking of cigarettes and cabernet, and for some reason this combo is irresistible. He just scratches something in my brain.

But also: uh, he’s a rock star. It’s a thing.

Rock star to whom?

Just to thousands of people filling his band's arena shows globally

Arenas? lol no

You're welcome!

Taylor's album is the best thing that's ever happened to him.

You're welcome!

You guys are crazy and in denial. This man is confident, cool and sexy af. And you know what they say about good dancers
I get why Tay is down bad.

Please tell me this is sarcastic?

Wow that guy is not attractive. Reminds me of that feminine Dune actor. Granted, I think Travis is a doofus. It seems like she can do better than any of these people.

Yeah she needs to find a big law equity partner

Given that Matty Healy is possibly the secret muse of many of Taylor’s songs over the years, songs that made her a billionaire, I’d say he deserves a lot more credit than what fans are giving him.
And please, you don’t get over such a “legendary”’ (in her own words) love in a couple of months, which is the time it took her to get with Travis.

Who calls their “legendary” love the smallest man who ever lived to the entire world?

Travis is the rebound.

MH: Do you think I have forgotten?
About you?

TS: I wish I could un-recall how we almost had it all. 💔
