| I'm really not a board game person, but figure I ought to give it a try. My daughters are 10 and 12. Not into Monopoly and Clue. I generally prefer Trivia type games. |
| Life, Scrabble and although not a board game, dominoes. |

Sorry, Scattergories, Card games.
Why not try a kid's version of trivival pursuit |
| Rummikub is a good one. Apples to Apples. |

We are really into connect4, sequence, castle logic, Gravity maze right now. But our oldest child is 6. She also really likes match/memory game - we don't but indulge her.
We are also into puzzles, including Lego sets we work as a family. |

Blokus, Carcassonne, takenoko, uno, King of Tokyo, catan ... my kids haven't played clue, and I've avoided teaching them monopoly because it is one of those games that the winner is actually determined early in the game and it takes an eternity for the winner to finally take over the board.
I would recommend takenoko, Blokus and Carcassonne for family games that appeal to adults and kids. |
I echo qwirkle as well. I should also mention if they like puzzles then Forbidden Island would be good. |
|
Dominion, 7 Wonders, Ticket to Ride.
You might try going to Labyrinth or Childs Play and just asking them for advice. I've found the people at Childs Play very helpful in the past. |
