We just moved into a new home and found out the hard way that granite stains very easily. Can anyone recommend a stain remover for granite countertops?
I don't have a stain remover to recommend, but if your granite is staining, it means it needs to be sealed. After you seal it, it shouldn't stain anymore. It'll need to be resealed periodically.
You need to reseal it asap if it's staining.
You can make a poultice yourself to pull out the stain as well. Google is your friend. And then seal it!
Agree on the poultice -- I think the young house love blog had the one that worked for us. Give it time to really work, and definitely reseal. Also test your sealant in a small area before using everywhere- some work better for light or dark stone
Took red ink from a wet plastic Target bag out of carerra marble with a poultice and Saran wrap. I repeated it at least 10 times but stain came 100% out. I'm guessing it would work for granite. Bought poultice at place that sold us the counter top.
