He doesn’t have the intelligence, but he does have the guts. I can’t stand him, but until Democrats get with it on the border, MAGA will have an audience.

One Democrat failed to secure the border- Joe Biden. Joe Biden is retired now. No other Dem president has ever failed to secure the border as well as any GOP president. The border is in Trump's hands now. Trump promised to build a wall to secure the border during his first term but failed due to his lack of political savvy.

Trump promised once again to secure the border in his second term. If it isn't secured by a wall and/or some other type of permanent legislative fix by 2028, it's Trump and the GOP who will be to blame for not securing our borders. It's Trump number one campaign promise. He needs to follow through with a permanent fix; not some band aid policy set by an EO that can easily be reversed.

I’m the PP. I agree with you in part, but since 2016 and 2020 especially the rhetoric (and perceived position) of the Democratic Party has basically been that “immigrants” (really, poor economic migrants from Central America) are hard workers and earnest asylum seekers and basically that the influx of such people coming over the Southern border is a made up problem and that efforts to deport them or even identify that this is an issue and stronger border enforcement is needed to keep them out are racist. There is definitely an optics issue for the Democrats, preventing them from exercising common sense, because obviously these people are nonwhite. This reaction is, I believe, an overcorrection in large part responding to Trump’s (often racist) rhetoric since 2016 and then the national racial justice movement that began in 2020.

Biden happened to be the Democrat in power during this period, so yes, he deserves a lot of blame for it, but it’s a Democratic policy generally and it’s extremely unpopular. Trump was basically able to capitalize on this twice. How the Democratic party hasn’t learned this yet is beyond me.

Your daily reminder that Biden ran in 2020 because of Trump. He would have happily stayed retired if the voters had an ounce of common sense and not voted for Trump in 2016. But because of their stupidity here we are.

Trump was as unpopular in 2020 as Biden was in 2024. Elmer Fudd could have beaten Trump in 2020. Yes, those who pay attention and care are a little upset about how and why we chose the one guy in 2020 who could fumble The White House back to Trump in 2024.

You can blame the voters in 2016 and in
2024.

Blame whomever you want but at the end of the day, if we keep electing substandard presidents like Trump and Biden, we will be continually opening the door for more substandard presidents. Weakness breeds weakness. Not rocket science.

Personally I think that Biden should never have been elected, not even to a first term. He was OK during his first term, but the problem is that a first term set up his own expectations for a second one. We should have seen this coming, and never picked him in the first place.

From now on, only younger people for the Presidency please. Trump has cognitive problems of his own, and had them in his first term as well (not to mention the moral, legal, constitutional, financial, etc...).

We can only move forward by pushing for more transparency and recognizing each party's weaknesses.

People can go on and on about this all they want. The difference is competent professionals were appointed by Biden making decisions not on their self interest. We were not dealing with the utter s*** show we are now under Trump. The cabinet alone is a clown car.

Yes, but we wouldn't be here if it wasn't for Biden and his decision to run for reelection when he would be an 86 year old president and obviously incapable of performing his duties. That is what brought us here - the utter arrogance of Biden and the Democratic establishment forcing a feeble gerontocracy as the only alternative to Trump. And when that game was up, then forcing an unpopular wine mom vp that couldn't even make it to the Iowa caucuses when she ran for president. Everything that Democrats did in the 2024 election was a disaster. And that's why we have Trump today. Because Democrats are pompous morons.

If Trump wasn’t the R nominee in 2016 we wouldn’t be having this conversation.

Trump incited an insurrection. He should be in jail, but the very least impeached and disqualified from ever running for office again. Instead, he was the Republican nominee in 2024.

He had no platform and no plan at all for what he would do as president except screaming about immigrants. He accused Haitians of eating their pets. He disparaged and denigrated groups of people just based on their appearance.

Biden could’ve been in a coma and he still would’ve been a better choice

It's more accurate to say Biden was the less horrific choice relative to Trump. Both are complete embarrassments to all presidents who came before them.

That implies that they were in the same realm. The reality is that Biden was, at his worst, better then Trump on his best day.

Trump won in 2016 because we ran a flawed candidate—against him.

Look I loved her. But half the people hated her. Like Meghan l-Markle-hated her.

Why do we keep allowing MSM pundits and strategists to makes decisions for the party? They are out to make money for themselves and they do no matter how badly they lose the election.

No she was not. They did not want her to know and try to mount her own offense.

Exactly. And let’s not forget the policies that Democrats wanted

Biden expanded immigration thru out his entire term. Biden, and Harris the Border Czar, created the disaster that lost the election to an idiot like Trump.

In his first 100 days in office, Biden signed more than 60 executive actions, 24 of which are direct reversals of Trump’s policies.
Biden has defended the number as necessary to undo what he considers “bad policy” inherited from Trump, especially on immigration.
To date, 10 of his 12 actions on immigration are reversals of Trump’s policies.

“And I want to make it clear — there’s a lot of talk, with good reason, about the number of executive orders that I have signed — I’m not making new law; I’m eliminating bad policy,” Biden said as he signed a series of actions on immigration from the Oval Office on February 2. “What I’m doing is taking on the issues that — 99% of them — that the president, the last president of the United States, issued executive orders I felt were very counterproductive to our security, counterproductive to who we are as a country, particularly in the area of immigration.”

The good thing for Dems in this regard is that Biden and his inexplicable border ideas is long gone and no longer an influence on the party. If appropriate long term legislation to reform our immigration laws isn't passed by 2028, the immigration failure issue falls in the lap of the GOP during the next election cycle.
