pediatrician for child with moderate SN (and another NT child as well)

We're moving back to the DC area (either NW DC or MC MD) this summer, after what will be four years away. Before we moved, we used Dr, Jennifer Kaplan at Children's Pediatricians and Associates, in Foggy Bottom. We liked Dr Kaplan a lot though at the time didn't know the extent of our second child's needs. We have two children, a typically developing 7 yr old girl and a soon-to-be 5 yr old boy with moderate SN.

I am wondering whether we should return to Kaplan when we move back in a few months or whether there are other pediatricians, preferably not in Foggy Bottom or some other similarly impossible place to park, whom people really like. We're looking for someone with good connections to specialists who actually remembers children and their cases from visit to visit. We want someone who returns phone calls and even emails him or herself when necessary. A place where someone - Dr or nurse - returns sick calls within an hour or so is important. I'll actually compromise on wait times (at Kaplan's office, we often waited up to an hour), as long as when we get in to see the doctor, we don't feel rushed at all. Someone with a good balance between intervention and wait-and-see is right for us.

We have United Healthcare for insurance.

If anyone has any recommendations or suggestions of whom to avoid, I would love to see them.

OP again. I should add that we lean towards the holistic and do use supplements for our son with SN so someone who is open to this kind of thing would be helpful.
