What's it like? Business people? Shoppers? Moms/Students? Is it quiet or bustling during business hours? |
it's quiet compared to weekend nights and it's a lot more sober. but there's a lot of brunching going on so it's not all dead. |
Ahem! Off the commercial streets, it's a lovely, quiet residential neighborhood, especially west of 18th St! Not many offices nearby, but you'll find a lot of pedestrians, including moms/nannies and dog walkers, on both weekends and weekdays, especially when the weather is nice. Weekend days are for brunching and the farmers' market. I haven't paid attention this year, but there's usually an art market on 18th St., too in the warm months. East of 18th, Columbia Rd. becomes a vibrant Latino open-air marketplace.
Are you thinking of volunteering at the Sitar Center, Zumba? |
Oh I didn't even think of Sitar. Thanks for the idea!
But no, I saw a yoga studio for rent there so I'm going to check it out next week. I'm wondering whose around there to take a morning, lunch or afternoon class. I see daytime yoga classes at studios around there, so there must be some bustlin' going on during daylight. |
oops i meant "who is around there..." |
I lived in that area twice (a while ago) and two of my sisters live there now. I'd think a yoga studio would be very popular...although I guess it's a good idea to find out why the previous studio in that spot didn't work out!
It's also centrally located for stay at home folks from Woodley and Dupont and close by areas to get to for classes. |
i would think that offering both childcare and kid's yoga would be a good idea. |
There are a couple of studios in the neighborhood, but I live here and don't work conventional 9-5 hours. I've been disappointed that there aren't more options for classes during the day. So, you'd have at least one potential customer! |
