Please help me plan a weekend getaway!

Hi ladies!
I live in the DC area and have an 18 month old with #2 on the way this summer. We have never been away from our son before, and we'd like to do that before baby #2 arrives. I'm planning a surprise weekend for my husband in May, but I need ideas where to go! I have no idea. (we just moved here)
I'd love a cute little beach town, or even a cute mountain town. Nothing more than 4 hours away, preferably 2-3 hours. Definitely something with good restaurants, things to do, places to walk, etc.
Any ideas??

The closest beach towns are Bethany and Rehobeth.

I would do my overnight in Annapolis (not really meeting your requirement), but it is close, different, and relaxing.

What about Lake Anna in VA? Or St. Michael's on the Eastern shore? There are actually a couple of really cute towns on the eastern shore- like google the Delmarva penninsula and it should give you a list of some of the places out there (if you are into nature there is a wildlife preserve out there). Also, a cute non-beach town is Shepardstown WV. Its really quaint. HAVE FUN!
