I'm interested in trying a mineral foundation. Any recommendations, pro or con? I have fair-to-medium Asian skin that's best described as seriously neglected. Facials? Hah! On a good day, I get to wash my face.
On the recommendation of a facialist, I tried Jane Iredale mineral makeup and hated it. Mineral makeup feels light, but it looks like heavy, full coverage (I found this true with both the pressed and the loose powder, I never did use liquid foundation). I felt totally washed out b/c none of my natural skin tone could shine though b/c it was so coverage. I won't go back to mineral, at least not for a foundation or face powder.
Love the bare escentuals mineral powder. It's available at sephora in a wide range of shades. You can apply it as needed so that coverage is light or heavier. Sometimes I even skip putting any at all on certain areas of my face and it works. And it doesn't clog my pores like a lot of other makeups out there.
Another vote for Bare Escentuals. I absolutly LOVE it!

I also love Bare Minerals. My sister turned me onto it (baaaad acne, her whole life) and I won't use anything else. I do, however, need to research some type of pressed powder for later in teh day to keep in my purse.
love love love it. |
Another vote for bare escentuals. I also have fair to medium asian skin and I found that medium beige looks the best on my skin tone. I've tried several other shades of medium to tan (that come in the starter kits) and found that it looked unnatural. I've been using bare escentuals for 5 years and I will never go back to liquid foundation - I sound like an informercial.
Thank you, everybody! (Especially PP--you've saved me from wasting money on the wrong shade!)
