Is it over yet?

MIL just sprayed my pie with Lysol because it was cooling on the counter while she was cleaning. And my preschoolers now know about her upcoming plastic surgery and how important it is to be skinny.

It is never over.

Yeah, it's over. Your kids won't eat the pie anyway now that they have an eating disorder.

Lol!! Op here...good point. Gotta laugh I guess. And then work on deprogramming them when we get home.

Have another glass of wine. I'm hosting unwanted inlaws including cranky, 40 year old virgin SIL in the middle of a move (we are moving next week). I'm drinking heavily. Cheers!!

I was dreading thanksgiving at my mom's hoarder house and the miserable trip up there but then both of my kids (preschooler & infant) got sick with high fevers and horrible coughs that have kept us all awake for 3 days. Because of the steroids, My 3-year old has also turned into a raging psycho complete with thrashing tantrums, screaming, hitting and kicking. My infant is inconsolable and needs to be held for both naps and all night. I'd take family visit nonsense over this any day of the week!

Oh goodness.

"No dear, not this pie - Grandma sprayed it with desinfectant, which is not meant to be eaten and would give you a tummy ache. Have these cookies instead! Oh, and here's the leftover Halloween candy!"

Op back again. I'll probably be outing myself to anyone who knows me now, but since I first posted, MIL tried to put make up on the 2 year old, the 2 year old also just got bit by a dog, and the fire department had to be called for a separate issue. I fully give up.

if it makes you feel better OP, you are giving other DCUMers a laugh. I'm so worn out with the kids that these gems on DCUM are a much needed pick me up.

Can't believe your crazy MIL!

^^that sounds insensitive doesn't it? Hope your son is ok. But you have to admit, a Lysoled pie, makeup on a 2 year old and some of the comments upthread are just funny.

It only gets worse.

As long as I'm entertaining then, I also pulled a paper butter wrappper out of the pancakes this morning and hair out of dinner's lasagna. I could keep going. Might as well laugh or I'll cry.

And now you have all the reason you need to say, "Never again!"

Hope the two year old is ok.

Friends Thanksgiving episode when Rachel and Phoebe entered Emma in a baby beauty pageant.

^^Maybe your MIL is just trying to get your child to win a beauty pageant to help pay for college. Really you should be thanking her ?
