What about hawley?

And where is the SALT deduction at this point?

Selling public lands is nixed. Modified SNAP provisions are in. SALT is Schrodinger's provision. And it's not clear who will vote for any of it, in the Senate or House.

Happy Fourth!

At this point, I think the SALT caucus gets a better deal by just letting the current tax law expire. Rep Lawler said the senate and house proposals are non starters; Red state Republicans are basically throwing moderate Republicans to the wolves.

While completely throwing their own constituents under the bus

In WV alone: “A lot of people, I think they’re just going to give up after they hit a couple roadblocks. They’re just going to say, ‘I guess I don’t qualify anymore’ and not proceed anymore,” Smith said. “I would think there will be several thousand people not retaining Medicaid due to the work requirements. My guess is the largest reason will be because they won’t be able to navigate the paperwork.

Budget bill proposes $17 billion in cuts to medical services for veterans, Trump’s VA Secretary is trying to hide that with utter incompetence.

There's the budget FY21 - FY25:

https://www.usaspending.gov/agency/department-of-veterans-affairs?fy=2025

$306 Billion in 2021
$460 Billion in 2025

So the VA budget increased 50% in four years.

Governing is hard! C’mon. You can’t expect the VA Secretary to know how his staff arrived at the budget cuts. He just goes to cabinet meetings. /s

Red state Republicans are throwing their own constituents to the wolves. This bill is going to hurt rural American the most.

You may have heard that two wars ended in 2020 and 2021 so there were a lot more veterans to take care of?
