My pants don't fit at 7 weeks.

I'm already showing. My doctor has banned any exercise other than walking for the time being, and with grazing all day to stave off the nausea, my pants don't fit. Seriously. I'm down to one pair of herringbone leggings that I can wear to work. I have a lot of dresses that technically fit, but would be fitted and invite a lot of questions about the size of my normally small waistline.

Where can I get some decent, affordable, first trimester, work-appropriate leggings or pants with a waistline that won't hurt me? I'm not ready for maternity pants, but I need something to get me through the next 6 weeks of work. Luckily, my job has me rotating between a few different sites, so no one will notice if I wear the same pants 2-3 times in a week. I have plenty of longer, looser tunic shirts and sweaters to wear with them. Please suggest something other than BetaBrand dress yoga pants, since they are a million dollars, and know that I will get a pair if that is the only thing I can find.

Keeping in mind that what you're seeing is bloat, not baby, I would recommend that you just go ahead and buy some inexpensive maternity pants. That's what I did when I was extremely bloated around 6 weeks.

Take a look at GAP or Old Navy. If you wear long shirts and sweaters with them, no one will notice the maternity band.

First of all, that's totally normal. One of the dirty little secrets of pregnancy is that first trimester comes with all kinds of cool bloat. Your pants may fit again for a couple weeks around 11-13 weeks, but then you'll get a real bump.

You may as well just buy some maternity pants now. Seriously. The low-panel type are very inconspicuous and extremely COMFORTABLE. Check out Gap and Old Navy for a couple of basic pairs that won't break the bank.

Second Gap and Old Navy. The Old Navy Pixie Pant are a good bet. Also got some good pants from Ann Taylor Loft in the first trimester that still fit at 27 weeks.

Ug, bloat. At least it's not just fat. I swear I am grazing in the most healthy way possible considering the all-day sickness.

Are you all saying that The GAP and Old Navy sell maternity pants??

It sounds like I should just suck it up and get some maternity pants. Has anyone tried Target's?

It's just bloat, not baby, and yes, old navy and gap have sold maternity clothes for over a decade now. You should also try wearing jackets, because they will add structure to your silhouette and draw the eye up toward your shoulder/neckline more and de-emphasize your waist.

Yes but only online. Not in stores.

Some Old Navy stores sell maternity in stores.

Old Navy has a maternity section in its stores.

For my first pregnancy, many of my pants started getting tight around 10/11 weeks. I am also very petite. Sounds like you are as well, so get ready! You're probably just bloated at this point but the real bump will be here soon. I'm 5.5 weeks now and get a little bloated in the evening but everything still fits, thankfully!

Why has your doctor said you can't exercise?

OP here : I wasn't working out regularly before I got pregnant, I've had 3 miscarriages, and I have some other health conditions that make me high risk.

I have some belly bands, but they are to loose. And my pants are to tight to sit in. I need something in between.

Yes and Loft too. All online. You will be so much more comfortable in maternity pants.

I ordered a bunch of pants, like 8 or so pairs, from old navy and gap in a variety of styles and sizes because I couldn't find them in the store and didn't want to only try one size and find that they didn't work at all. I just kept the 2 that worked for me. Kind of a pain and I hated putting like $400 on my card, but I quickly returned what didn't work and got refunded.
