Am I the only one with bare nails?

what is a nail veil? Looking it up.
I always have bare nails barring special occasions. I still get manicures and pedicures occasionally, mostly for nail shaping. Minimal cuticle work , but I let them go to town on my calluses with the file. I'm 50 and my natural nails on my hands and feet look great. Once caveat--I started to get a bump on my thumbnail that I think was from overbuffing (instead of polishing) so now I ask them to lightly buff, or not at all. It grew out.
Natural can look and feel...amazing.

#1 or #4 or the pink Illuminating Nail Concealer. 1 coat for a tidy look, 2 coats for more of a nail polish look.

Most people I know have gel or SNS (I'm 52). I used to do gel and got tired of having to be in there every three weeks + the cost.

Thanks for the recommendation! I'm always looking for sheer colors

Same!

Keep short, trimmed bare nails.

Always get pedicures though

54. Watch those women wasting all that time with gel manicures and destroying nail bed when I get my pedicure. No way. I always kept short, bare fingernails. Grossed out by long nails— unhygienic.

I watched my mother go through months and months of babying her nail beds that were jacked up after years of acrylics. It took so long for her natural nails to recover. She's happy to be out of the vicious cycle.

Me toooooo! I love how chill and relaxing it is to go for a nice pedi at my amazing local nail salon and not have to do nails. I sit in the chair, do the massage, it’s the best. Nails are natural, they grow well and sometimes I use a whitening pencil and coat of Mademoiselle at home.

Yes, I have bare nails that I paint occasionally.

I usually do a regular sheer light pink on my fingernails but sometimes do dip nails or wear them bare. I see so many people who don’t wear polish, I’m surprised it’s rare for you to see.

Last week I watched the movie Emma, the latest one with Anya Taylor Joy. I loved seeing the beautiful hands and more natural makeup. It made me think that a natural manicure is so refreshing and beautiful. I have tried acrylics and gel but they always seem to damage my nails. Now I feel more confident in my decision to have bare nails or just base coat

I have always had bare nails. I hate long nails, and as a gardener, nice nails are wasted on me anyway.

Where are you that acrylics are more popular than bare nails?!

For sure what is most popular where I am are short, manicured, subtle or sheer polished nails.

I wouldn’t even notice bare nails unless they were long, scraggly, or unkempt. I do notice acrylics (not my style but I think they look cool) but I don’t see them on most women around me.
