Read carefully as a lot of this thread has proven truthful... |
I remember this post all that talk about moving to Springfield and FCV is still at Leesburg
Some theories became true FCV now need to rely on development people will not drive far if they have ECNL and DA at every corner now the 2007 are doing good but look at Loudoun 2007 had they never became ECNL those top girls would have easily ran to FCV so now the big question is will the 2008 girls hang with MU? 2008 Girls lost yesterday to VSA in the semi final where only four teams applied |
Different question: why in the world did STJ buy FCV? It isn't exactly a cash cow. In business, sometimes there are short term lock in agreements. Like, the previous owner is guaranteed his job or salary for the next two years, or a lease agreement must continue for three years, something. Is there anything like that here? The whole picture doesn't make sense. |
I get it. St James is branding a variety of sports. Have you been there? It is the ultimate sports destination. I am sure their business plan contemplates that these kids will compete on a St James branded team and will then also play something else at St James. Once one kid is doing a few things there. their friends will too and so on. They will sign up for a variety of training in a variety of sports. Families will eat there and hey also a spa so something to do if you are bored waiting. I have been there on weekends and the place is hopping. I don’t know about the soccer team plans but they still need to
Practice outside so probably will evolve over time to be inside in winter and outside at Leesburg rest of the year and yes parents will drive if it is good. |
This is interesting post, and you could be right. If that is the plan, then they are in for a rude awakening. Given the distance, there is no reason for any FCV family to go to STJ if it isn't a mandatory event. |
I don’t know. Again if it is good then people will drive. Also to
Have a full field for winter is huge. Our team has missed many practices because of weather and then you are driving anyway to a small field place. Anyway soccer is just a small price of the St James puzzle. I didn’t want to be impressed but spent a long swimming day there and yup I ate and I checked out spa and saw a sport everything. It is cool. |
FCV has 4 age groups in a row that are not top in the area - 06, 07, 08, 09. This used to be a destination club. |
The bigger near and long term concern isn't the distance it is the product. For that distance, there better be a compelling reason to make the drive. |
That is why something here isn't passing the smell test. |
So how good of a coach is BP? |
About as good as a duck |
The worst. Just the worst. |
+1 (and we moved to FCV for coaching from another large Loudoun club. Our DD just outgrew the training and needed something new to get her to the next level. Now she plays on ECNL and practices with DA). |
FCV parent here. We were told that the Loudoun operations will stay in LOUDOUN (Ashburn/Leesburg primairly). The overall goal is to build up Springfield's soccer team. There is no way we would commute to Springfield with so many other clubs around. We only really go there during winter on weekends for futsal, but that's the exception since those sessions are ran out of the Dulles SportsPlex in Sterling. |
